! Development Is Concentrated Only in Plains !
Government offices, universities, roads, jobs, hospitals almost everything has been built in Dehradun.But the hills, from Garhwal to Kumaon, remain underdeveloped.
! Mass Migration From Hill Villages !
Lack of basic facilities such as education, healthcare, roads, and jobs forces families to leave their ancestral villages. Thousands of villages now stand abandoned.
This migration breaks communities, weakens culture, and empties the mountains.
! Dehradun Has Crossed Its Carrying Capacity !
Overcrowding, pollution, traffic jams, water scarcity — Dehradun is struggling.Keeping everything concentrated in one city is neither practical nor sustainable for the future.
! Imbalanced Governance !
A capital located far from the majority of hill districts means:
